Ian Kenny (MISCP)
Ian Kenny obtained his BSc. (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree in The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2014. Since then he has worked exclusively in a musculoskeletal setting in private practice as well as with a number of sports teams, including working with intercounty Gaelic football teams, juvenile collegiate soccer teams and with his local GAA club – Ballyboden St. Enda’s. Ian has underwent extensive continuous professional development in dry needling therapy, manual therapy, sports taping, pilates and biomechanical assessment. This has led to him utilizing a combination of treatment techniques to achieve optimal patient outcomes. He utilises hands on treatment along with adjuncts such as extracorporeal shockwave therapy, ultrasound and laser therapy to have a direct influence on your pain and problem in the treatment session.
He is a firm believer in patient education and empowerment to allow the patient to understand their problem and effectively use exercise and other management techniques to manage and treat the problem in between treatment sessions. His areas of clinical interest include low back pain, orthotic prescription, shoulder and neck pain and sports and exercise related injuries. Away from work, Ian has a keen interest in health and fitness and regularly practices in resistance training, running and cycling. He also a passion for sport, particularly Gaelic football and hurling.
