Aileen completed her Physiotherapy degree at University of Brighton in the UK, where she graduated in 2019 with a first-class honours degree. Whilst completing her 1000 hours of clinical work experience, Aileen worked in a variety of environments including paediatrics, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and stroke rehabilitation. Prior to this, Aileen completed a previous Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy in 2015 from I.T. Carlow. During this she got the opportunity to do an elective placement at Stanford University in California, working collaboratively with elite collegiate athletes, athletic trainers and physical therapists which she describes as a ‘once in a lifetime experience’.
Aileen has a passion for helping others and enjoys empowering individuals to reach their goals in recovery. She has strong beliefs in patient education and uses a mixture of hands-on techniques, tailored exercise therapy and self-management approaches in her treatment sessions. Aileen’s love of all things sport and exercise carries through to her day to day work where she has a keen interest in the treatment and management of sports injuries. Other clinical areas of interest to Aileen include low back pain, knee pain and women’s health issues. She is also working towards attaining her qualification in dry needling and as a clinical pilates instructor. Outside of work Aileen enjoys being active by going to the gym or for a run and playing GAA.
