Ian Kenny (MISCP)
Ian Kenny obtained his BSc. (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree in The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2014. Since then he has worked exclusively in a musculoskeletal setting in private practice as well as with a number of sports teams, including working with inter-county Gaelic football teams, juvenile collegiate soccer teams and with his local GAA club – Ballyboden St. Enda’s.
Ian has a passion for Physiotherapy and is constantly engaged and participating with continuous training and professional development. This allows him to implement the most up to date research and thinking in Physiotherapy and Orthopedic medicine, in his treatment and management. He has completed post graduate training and has qualification in, dry needling therapy, extra-corporeal shock-wave therapy, orthotic/insole prescription and biomechanical assessment, strength and conditioning.
Ian uses these skills, in hands on treatment within physiotherapy treatment sessions, as well as exercise and patient education and empowerment to help patients manage their problems and help them maintain the progress they make within treatment.
Ian currently leads the Better Neck Programme in our southside clinics, and has a special clinical interest in patients with neck and shoulder problems. His other areas of clinical interest include low back pain, hip pain, sports and exercise related injuries, and tendon problems.
Away from work, Ian has a keen interest in health and fitness and regularly practices in resistance and weight training, running and cycling. He also a passion for sport, particularly Gaelic football and hurling.
