Rory is a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Senior Chartered Physiotherapist with extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and rehabilitation. He obtained an Honours degree in Physiotherapy from Teesside University 2012. Subsequently, Rory has completed Post Graduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from University South Wales. Prior to undertaking his degree, he obtained a Higher Certificate of Physiology and Health Science from Institute of Technology Carlow in 2009. Rory specialises in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has worked for a number of years in the UK between the National Health Service (NHS), private practice and elite sports. Rory has completed extensive core physiotherapy rotations within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neurological rehabilitation, Respiratory physiotherapy and Acute Orthopaedic rehabilitation within the teaching hospitals of North East of England, These formative years of experience have allowed Rory to develop a deep rounded and thorough understanding of complex presentations and how to clinically and effectively assess, treat and manage patients from a holistic physiotherapeutic perspective.
In 2016, he returned to Ireland and began working within PhysioCare. Within his clinical practice, Rory now specialises in spinal pain and lower limb pathologies, working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds. Rory has a clinical interest in treating complex chronic cervical and lumbar spine pain, alongside knee and foot injuries. He combines his biomechanical knowledge to address the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction. Rory’s philosophy as a physiotherapist is to engage, educate and empower the patient with an understanding of how exercise and lifestyle changes can help to remove pain and restore optimal function. Rory has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, from the youth, adolescent to the seasoned club level and elite level athletes. Most specifically, Rory has worked extensively with the aging and non-sporting population during his time within PhysioCare. Rory is passionate about helping and providing care to the local community and those of all levels of physical activity and all ages. Rory hails from Lucan, Co Dublin and during his schooling days attended locally within St Vincent’s Castleknock College. Rory has a great passion for helping others and challenging boundaries and beliefs. He is based within both the Castlknock and Blanchardstown clinics within PhysioCare.
